no longer remembers what pix i set for my monitors
Published on November 11, 2019 By Badstone In DeskScapes

Lately Deskscape has not been remembering my choices for my 3  monitors. Sometimes it would only remember if I right clicked and selected Configure deskscapes, and they would return, but then it stopped even that. I just updated the program and no improvement.

I have tried to change pix from different folders, tried all the same pix, but it defaults to my last Windows 10 choice, instead of what i select.

WORSE, now when I try to select another image for my monitors it will not install them!

What happened, and what can i do?

Thanks.

the file is empty.

Admin run, nothing happens.

on Nov 15, 2019

What do you mean the File is emptied ?

on Nov 15, 2019

What part of "empty" is unclear? there's nothing there. Notpad++ shows it empty. I run it as admin and of course nothing happens, because it is empty. I don't know what else to say. It's as empty as the rest of this post. It is a zero byte file.

Thanks,

You did the Purge and reinstalled the latest version from your account ?

on Nov 16, 2019

no. I thought you said that program would do it. So I've done nothing more, since i do not know what you mean by "purge'. I have two programs that uninstall programs, but I've already uninstalled and reinstalled once with no change.

Have you tried that link recently? Do you DL a file that is zero bytes long?

Thanks.

So I used Ashampoo's Uninstaller 9 to remove deskscapes. I rebooted and reinstalled Deskscapes.

It doesn't work at all. I set a wallpaper in windows. i opened deskscape and set monitor 1 to an image and all 3 monitors went blank! No matter what i try nothing happens.

Thanks; yes I ran it, but not as admin; ran as admin and on reboot, Deskscapes 8 is still there. - EDIT - no it was only that the icon was still under the stardock listing of programs. So the purge doesn't remove all traces? Anyway, I'll try an install again.

Thanks so much for your patience and help.

You need to run latest version of Deskscapes 10 for muti monitor set up not Deskscapes 8
